Cairo-based Black/Death Metal force CRESCENT is proud to announce the release of their upcoming full-length album, ‚A Sacrament to Aur ‚, scheduled for Spring 2026.
Formed in 1998 by Ismaeel Attallah and Amr Mokhtar, CRESCENT emerged from Egypt’s underground as a Black Metal entity influenced by the Swedish scene. Over the decades, the band has evolved into a distinct Blackened Death Metal powerhouse, weaving Ancient Egyptian themes into their sound and lyrical universe.
CRESCENT’s 2021 release, ‚Carving the Fires of Akhet‘, was mixed and mastered by Victor “Santura” Bullok (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studio, paired with a striking Baroque-styled artwork by Khaos Diktator. The album explored the divine will etched into humanity’s past and future.
CRESCENT’s new album ‚A Sacrament to Aur‘ is a rite of passage through the endless struggle between existence and oblivion. With visions of chaos and order, night and day, darkness and fire, Set and Apophis.
‚A sacrament to Aur‘ represents the battle fought on every night to reach the dawn to have the world reborned to the next day. Everybody out there has a story to tell with all its challenges whether it’s an internal or external war that one faces.
The songs are related and are made for those who want to reflect and to be awakened, for those who are in distress and have the will to overcome to transcend and to be reborn and be the fire towards the end of the long path.
Musically you will witness the words reflected in the tunes, ‚A Sacrament to Aur‘ maintains CRESCENT’s signature of uncompromising violence and melody intertwined. However, the sense of struggle and melancholy is eminent on this record as well as several passages of cosmic horror riffing that is also quite hypnotic.
This is a deeply profound body of art that can be touched by many individuals yet confrontational and philosophical at the same time.
This work is dedicated to those who wander the threshold, who confront the abyss and still reach toward the light.
May it resonantes and awaken.
