DESERTED FEAR comment: „Let’s imagine we had to kill our own food – could we do that?“, guitarist Fabian Hildebrandt asks: „We know the suffering that comes with excessive meat consumption. Do we just ignore it? As a sausage band, keeping animals in our own gardens and neighborhoods raised these questions for us at some point. Today’s meat consumption is the result of a system that puts profit above animal welfare and destroys nature. In industrialised countries, we have hardly any contact with these animals. People used to be more conscious about keeping their own animals. Meat was something special. Today it is normal to buy cheap meat from discount stores and consume it every day. That more people are choosing to eat meat more consciously, or even do without it altogether, is an important development. These people often have to justify themselves at family gatherings and get laughed at instead of being listened to. We don’t want to lecture with our video for ‚Blind‘, but we aim to make people think.“
