DYMNA LOTVA unveil the harsh video ‚Hell‚ (Пекла) as the next single taken from the Belarus duo’s forthcoming new album „The Land under the Black Wings: Blood“ (Зямля Пад Чорнымі Крыламі: Кроў), which is scheduled for release on August 4, 2023: Dymna Lotva – Пекла (Hell) [Official Music Video] – YouTube
DYMNA LOTVA comment on ‚Hell‘ (Пекла): „This song tells the story of a mother, who lost her children at war“, vocalist Katsiaryna „Nokt Aeon“ Mankevich explains. „She survived but the trauma had burned itself into her memories forever. She was stuck in her personal hell for the remainder of her life.“
The video was filmed on location at the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle. All the buildings shown in it are completely authentic. They were built from the 18th until the early 20th century. The youngest house dates from 1932 and all of them were moved to the museum in the 1970’s. The video is quite personal for the band’s videographer Jay Flokker as her grandmother lost a 3 year old child during the occupation of Belarus in World War II, which died from cold and starvation. Parts of the lyrics come from a fragment of a Belarusian and Ukrainian folk song.
