Eminentia Tenebris is a melodic and atmospheric black metal project from Le Mans, France. It was founded in 2020 as a one-man band by Cryo, but Whispers of the Undying – the band’s fourth album – marks the arrival of Erroiak on vocals and Daeris as the lyricist. Septev joined during the production of the third album – Rise of the New Kingdom, released in 2023 by Antiq – handling mixing, mastering, and layout.
Each song invites the listener to follow the journey of a narrator portrayed as a hero or warlord in an immersive and introspective voyage, during which he is called to battle. Themes such as loss, betrayal, and death are recurrent, yet always approached with a heroic fantasy spirit – conquering and full of hope. As the album progresses, the narrator transforms: from a triumphant protector to a tormented soul, whose powerlessness in the face of time’s ravages leads him to self-reflection at the moment of death.
Ultimately, Whispers of the Undying questions the legacy one wishes to leave behind and pays tribute both to heroic figures and to the power of nature – before which humankind must remember to remain humble.
Antiq is a label dedicated to the fully coherent concept of making music through sound, image, video, and attitude. They have been putting their entire existence into it since 2009. Over the years, Antiq have been identified as producers of not only perfectly coherent lyrics and themes through music, but also conceptual art and, of course, the manufacturing of beautiful objects. The label tries as much as it can to work with French creators, and if possible, with the smallest and most serious structures.
