Malum signs with Dark Essence Records

Dark Essence Records has welcomed Norwegian Black Metal band Malum to their roster, and is ready to release the band’s second full-length album in the spring of 2026. The Oslo-based band is known for their fierce, uncompromising and dark black metal. Malum was formed in 2020 and has since released two EPs, one full-length and performed at festivals and venues like Inferno, Unholy Congregation IV, Sort Messe, John Dee, Hulen and Tribute.

Malum rose from the ashes as a brand new entity in the Norwegian underground scene. Their prime directive is raw, atmospheric and melodic black metal — with a sound rooted in the bleak traditions of the second wave of black metal, and shaped by modern existentialism and nihilism. Malum delivers music that is both oppressive and cathartic, and has carved a path through Norway’s underground with raw intensity and philosophical depth.

Commenting on their upcoming collaboration with Dark Essence Records, the band had this to say: No light. Only void. The time has come to announce that Malum has signed with Dark Essence Records. This marks the beginning of a new chapter — not of hope, but of persistence, forged through shared vision and unwavering dedication to our craft. Our deepest gratitude goes to the label for embracing the void with us, and to all who continue to support us through the darkness. The entity that consists of A.A, M.F, A.G and E.T.S is about to release a bleak opus upon the world. Malum is not merely a band — it is a confrontation. With the self. With silence. With nothingness.
