NIGHTMARER release new single Shame Spiral

International extreme metal collective NIGHTMARER descend even deeper into their signature abyss with “Shame Spiral,” the first single from their forthcoming EP Hell Interface, due out January 30, 2026.

Nightmarer – Shame Spiral

Featuring core members Simon Hawemann, Paul Seidel and longtime vocalist John Collett, the track also introduces Christian Kolf (Valborg) as a permanent co-vocalist. Together, they twist NIGHTMARER’s already unorthodox approach—born from years of pushing boundaries in projects like The Ocean, War From A Harlots Mouth, and Gigan—into even more warped and nerve-shredding territory.

“Shame Spiral” captures the band in a state of deliberate transformation: a rawer, more immediate evolution of the suffocating dissonance and meticulous sound design heard on their previous album Deformity Adrift. Blackened atmospheres, tectonic doom, and atonal violence collide in a downward pull that feels inescapable.

Kolf’s addition adds a second, distinct vocal dimension that heightens the psychological turbulence at NIGHTMARER’s core. His interplay with Collett opens new spaces for layered phrasing and experimental tension—an unsettling duality that defines the next era of the band.

As curators of the boutique label collective Total Dissonance WorshipNIGHTMARER continue to shape the outer edges of extreme metal. With “Shame Spiral,” they offer the first harrowing glimpse into Hell Interface—a release that promises to drag their pitch-black vision into even more alien terrain.
